Ira Gupta leads the HR function for Microsoft India which has an employee footprint that spans research, engineering product development, sales and marketing, industry solutions delivery and customer experience & support, spread across 9 cities across the country. In this role, her priorities include aligning the organization's people strategy with business objectives, building a transformational and diverse organization, talent development and implementing effective HR systems and polices for 20000+ employees at Microsoft India.

Prior to Microsoft, Ira was part of the India leadership team at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, where, for over 16 years, she worked in various leadership roles across HR, Sales and Marketing, Communications and CSR. She also set up shared services across businesses. Ira is an Independent Director on a number of company boards.
