Peter C. Evans
Peter C. Evans is the Managing Partner at the Platform Strategy Institute and course leader at CalTech Executive Education. Dr. Evans has over 20 years of experience leading teams in identifying, assessing, and communicating high-priority marketplace trends and disruptions to shape effective business strategy, leadership development, innovation and investment. He has specialized in helping companies anticipate key market trends, develop strategic responses as craft seminal thought leadership that frames and articulates the need for change. Dr. Evans has held senior strategy, innovation and market intelligence roles at General Electric and was a partner at KPMG. He was also the Vice President at the Center for Global Enterprise, a think tank established by the former CEO of IBM, Sam Palmisano. He is the author of several influential works including the “Rise of the Platform Enterprise” and “Industrial Internet: Pushing the Boundaries of Minds and Machines, which articulated GE’s shift to a digital industrial enterprise. He received his master's degree and PhD degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and served on the board of the National Association for Business Economics. He has co-chaired the MIT Platform Strategy Summit since 2017. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children.
