Rajiv Tandon is the Chief Executive Officer of the Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) division of BITS Pilani, a globally reputed higher education institution. BITS Pilani WILP is primarily focused on addressing continuous education needs of working professionals and serves multiple industry verticals, such as IT & ITES, Automotive, Manufacturing, Energy, Metals & Mining, and Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare.
Rajiv leads the WILP division and has played a pivotal role in scaling up BITS Pilani’s unique work-integrated learning model, which currently has more than 30,000 working professionals, who are pursuing a range of sector-specific degree and certification programmes. Prior to BITS Pilani, he has worked with highly respected global learning organizations, such as NIIT and Aptech, and with IMT Ghaziabad, one of the leading and top ranked B-Schools. During his career that spans over three decades, he has performed influential work in various strategic leadership roles, both in India as well as several key international markets in Americas, Asia, and Africa. He is a Graduate in Economics from Delhi University and a Post Graduate in Management from IMI, Delhi.
As a passionate proponent of effective industry-academia collaboration, Rajiv has been instrumental in structuring some of the most innovative, highly impactful, and collaborative learning models; these models have helped many sector leading and global corporations address their key goals in relation to talent acquisition, talent transformation, and even talent retention. His ability to galvanize both educators and practitioners to synergize deeply, has contributed to the design of a range of industry-relevant programmes, which have benefitted thousands of working professionals and their employers.
Rajiv’s rich cross-functional experience in the education industry has also endowed him with a deep understanding and appreciation of both opportunities and challenges of the education and learning landscape. He is a firm believer and enthusiast of harnessing the gains from technology to help address various challenges, such as the high cost of education and to provide greater access to high-quality learning to thousands of aspirants all over the world. This belief, over the years, has led him to devote himself to work on several innovative and technology-enabled learning models, which deliver promising, affordable, and high-quality education to those individuals who aspire for it.
