He is a HR Leader with 19+ years of work experience in HR Consulting, HR Business Partnership and Retail Sales & Marketing.

He has completed PG Diploma in PM & IR from XLRI Jamshedpur, PG Diploma in Counselling from TISS & BE in Mechanical Engineering from MANIT Bhopal. He is a Doctoral Scholar with SP Jain School of Global Management.

He also holds Diploma in transactional analysis and certifications in SPHR, GPHR, SAP-HCM & SHRM-SCP.

He is a TEDx Speaker and was recently recognized as one of the Top 50 HR Influencers in India by SHRM.

He is the winner of People Matters DDI Are you in the List Awards in 2012 and Jombay 40Under Forty in 2018. These awards recognize potential future HR Leaders.

He is passionate about sharing his learnings and coaching / mentoring young professionals. He has been a visiting faculty & guest lecturer to top B Schools. Sumit is regularly invited as key note speaker / panel speaker in HR / Leadership conferences.

He has worked with Reliance Industries Limited as Vice President as a part of their HR Leadership Team. He has worked with Cipla, Hewitt Associates and Bharat Petroleum in the past.

He has worked with Cipla Limited as Sr. Director & Head HR Commercial for Chronic & Emerging, Alternate Channels & Super Specialties Therapy Verticals. He also managed for Corporate Functions HR for Cipla Limited as head of the function

In his previous stint with RIL, he has worked as Head of HR Capability Development Centre of Excellence for RIL Group. He also led HR Business Partnership for Nagothane Manufacturing Division for nearly 3 years.

He is a certified HOGAN & MBTI Specialist and masters the art of Transaction Analysis in professional Environment.
